Do you have doubts about being able to grow your own organic veggies? Do you think it will take too much time? Well you can do it without the help of landscaping services Marietta. My garden is proof that it can be done! As you can imagine, the last thing I wanted to do when I got home every night, was go work in my yard. My kids kept pushing me and we started a herb garden…just a few pots…last spring. You can read this post here that helped me to maintain them beautifully. They pushed some more and this past winter we put in 160 square feet of raised beds…just for veggies. I took home car load after car load of bagged Landscapers Pride Landscaping Mix. They loved it, carefully spacing those tiny seeds. Almost everything sprouted the on the 1st planting. A month later we replanted what failed to sprout. We all took turns watering. We read more about plants. It rained enough this winter so, sometimes, a week went by without us venturing out to see how everything was doing. I sprayed Liquid Bt (saw some caterpillar holes on the Bok Choy) for the 1st time on Tuesday, it was the 1st “killer” I have used. This is our garden today! It was easy, we have eaten a mountain of lettuce so far and had fresh Bok Choy to go with the home-made wontons we make (I will gladly share the recipe for the wontons…very cheap and easy!). We have stared harvesting carrots and every week, I have eaten all the radishes the garden provided. We are at the tipping point with the lettuce though. There is just more than we can eat and now we are sharing with friends and neighbors. We recently planted tomatoes,basil, peas, beans and the cucumbers and squash go in, next week on a clever contraption made of an old box spring and a couple of posts (if you’re going to recycle, do it big!).
